Hambly has portrayed the cowboy and horse in his art since childhood. Born in Winkleman and raised in Tucson, Hambly is a fifth-generation Arizonan. In fact, his great-great grandfather was sheriff of Tucson in 1867 and served three sessions in the territorial legislature.
