I have never been to Japan but I love everything Japanese. This piece is the first of a body of work exploring my love affair with a culture I admire and I am intrigued by. Exploring the East from the West. Maiko is an apprentice geiko in Kyoto, whose job consists of performing songs, dances and playing shamisen or the koto for visitors during feasts. This piece consists of 4 different parts in different sizes that should be assembled together to form the image. Signed and dated on verso. Requires an easy assemble, and is ready to hang with screws through already made holes at the corners of each section. Ships in a box.
