My love for art started at a very young age when I was found making a mess of my mother's paint-by-number set while still in my crib. I am primarily self-taught and thrilled about pursuing my lifelong passion and desire to paint. I paint mostly with oil paint because I like how well the colors blend and the smooth feel and glide of the oil paint under my paintbrush. I also enjoy the ability to add texture with painting knives. Since color, texture, and design have always fascinated me, I strive to express color harmony combined with interesting texture transitions in my paintings.
Nature constantly inspires me from each unique tree, flower, and sunset to the ripples of the waves crashing on the sand to the beauty of animal's fur, expressions, and affection. I have a strong connection to animals and an affinity for the beauty found in nature, especially the tropics and seas which are a tremendous inspiration to my paintings. My goal is to capture nature's beauty on canvas and share it with the world.
I also enjoy photography and music, occasionally creating digital works from my paintings and photos.
I grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana, and later spent several years in South Florida, where I met my husband. I currently reside in Marietta, Georgia with my husband, two sons, and four rescue dogs.
