Statement
Born and raised in Rockland, surrounded by the beauty of coastal Maine, my ability to create was given to me as a precious gift. Now, as a watercolorist living in Cushing, I finally have made room in my life to become the artist that I always felt I could be.
With a strong creative force, I began painting once again in late 2022. It is the tiniest of details and the vagueness of a long view that find their way into my paintings. I try to express the movement of a cloud or the tides coming and going, even the beginnings of a small bud ready to burst open. And within very special moments, my paintings have captured a strong emotional bond between friends.
I received an Honorable Mention in the premier issue of Art & Color 365 publication in March 2023, and am now delighted to be able share my work for the first time at the Pen Bay Medical Center 2023 Art Exhibition. I am a self-taught artist and also attended the Rhode Island School of Design in the 80’s. My curiosity and eagerness to learn has recently inspired me to expand into oil and encaustic painting, as well.
