The colour scheme in Living under the Sea is not just variations of blue for the water - there is aqua to show the glow of the sun through the water, golden ochres and creams for the sand, salmon reds, silver, green and yellow for the coral plus lots of other hues sprinkled throughout.

The fine details of the piece are inspired by my book of microscopic photographs of living organisms under the Sea. The patterns and textures in these photos are truly amazing.
