Creating awareness of the plights of giraffes.
This species is hunted regularly for meat, and urbanization has caused large sections of their habitat to disappear. Today, they are considered an endangered species.
The use of reds refers to the alarm and the blood shed by all the poaching.
As with much of my work, the final process involves carefully placing symbols that intersect cultures, objects, and moments in time. These clusters are my way of searching for balance—within the piece and within myself—amidst a chaotic world. It becomes a visual prayer, distilling complexity into a hopeful narrative of harmony and connection.
The symbols in this painting are organized in the shape of the moon, the one place man cannot take over.
