This artwork sheds light on the plight of turtles. Each year, thousands of turtles drown due to entanglement in nets or the ingestion of plastic debris floating in the oceans. If humans adopted more sustainable practices, perhaps plastics could be eliminated from the equation of daily living. The white background underscores their vanishing habitats, and the gold, a recurring color in my work, serves as a metaphor for healing.
