Life possesses a profound beauty, and the human spirit can exhibit remarkable resilience, provided we grant ourselves moments of reprieve from the clamor of the world.
The shapes within the figure allude to urban development, where land divisions, mapping and architecture encroach upon all life, crowding and disrupting, and more often than not, causing displacement and upheaval.
I incorporate gold intentionally in my work as a personal symbol of protection and healing and layers of ink and acrylic help to build the space.
Through animation in the augmented reality layer, the observer may sense a form of release as they experience the tranquility of the pose, the gradual rhythm of the heartbeat, and the ebbing of the chaotic tension.
