Complicit Silence: This work depicts people who choose not to act or speak in the face of evil acts perpetrated by their neighbors. Their red gags evoke the color of the Nazis and today’s Fascists. Ultimately, they become enslaved to the crumbling structure of the state, and while their silence buys them time, it does not save them.
