Item description: WOMEN SERIES In 1975, James McCormick left Silver City, the result of the breakup of his marriage. In response to this deeply destressing turn in his life, he initiated a series of charcoal pencil and colored pencil drawings based on the theme of “Women.” It was his attempt, along with writing poetry on the same theme, to confront the matter of gender as he graphically explored the possibilities for creative companionship with women—even in the aftermath of alienation and severance.
