COMMON GROUND: March 6–8

We are here. We are always becoming. We are always expanding.
COMMON GROUND explores transformation as a continual unfolding, shaped by lineage, migration, memory, and imagination.
Presented as a three-day activation at The Stutz, the exhibition centers theERA artists alongside Mahogany Gallery and invited guest artists, forming a layered dialogue across generations and mediums.
Opening during First Friday, the exhibition invites the public into free viewing and an immersive dialogue around identity, cultural expansion, and collective growth. Saturday’s paid ticketed activation aligns with Easel at The Stutz, engaging collectors and cultural patrons in conversation about supporting and investing in artists across all stages of practice, from emerging to mid-career to established artists. Sunday reopens to the public before concluding with an artist panel, followed by an intimate collectors-and-artists mingle, celebrating the full spectrum of artistic voices in the show.
“Common Ground is not a single moment. It’s a practice. It’s the work of carrying forward what shapes us, while continuously evolving.”
- Ella Ashwill of theERA
Common Ground is both personal and collective. It asks:

  • What do we carry forward?
  • What do we release?
  • Who are we becoming on our own and together?

Culture is not static.
It is alive.
We are always expanding
.

Across painting, sculpture, and mixed media, participating artists reflect movement across cultural expansion, materials, and memory. These works consider identity not as fixed, but as evolving, shaped by ancestry, migration, environment, and lived experience.

This is not simply an exhibition, it is a cultural convening. Stutz 2nd Floor Studios B-295
