For the past 15 years, living on the East Coast and spending most of my days on or near the water, my work has been deeply influenced by the movement and rhythm of aquatic environments. I seek to capture this energy through abstract forms, combining ordinary
plywood and metal to translate the flow of water and aquatic life into sculptural expression. Rather than bending or shaping the wood, I glue large sheets of plywood into solid blocks and carve them much like an artist carves marble, revealing layers that convey motion and depth. The exposed wood layers, combined with oxidized metal accents along the leading edges, create a dynamic contrast—earthy rust tones and the cool sheen of bronze. These materials resonate with my love of the outdoors and invite viewers to experience a sense of fluidity, healing, and connection. $8000 and $7000
