"Autumn on the Guadalupe" is an oil print on autotype double transfer paper. Inking was done with Sinclair brown pigment. The scene is on the Guadalupe River, near Center Point, Texas. Exposure was made in the late afternoon, near sun-down. Eastman Plus X film was exposed in a Super Ikonta B and developed in Edwald 20.
Original print was made on Defender DL, normal, 11x14" in size. This print was toned selectively in Selenium and worked up as a "duo-brome" with blue oil color. Copy negative, from which the oil print was made, was exposed on Super XX and developed in Eastman D-76. Copying was done with a Seneca 6.5x8.5 view camera.
Some further work was done on this copy negative, by means of retouching on grand celluloid, attached to the back of the negative, to balance tonal values - particularly the large tree on the extreme right.
