Her preferred medium is oil, she continues to try and experiment with new mediums in her expression of art. Nancy competes in many juried and non-juried shows mainly on the Eastern Coast. Nancy’s interests in en Plein Air Painting has evolved over the last 10 years, in a transition from the details Realism. Plein air has provided the perfect vehicle for expressing her love of the outdoors and the awareness of nature. The success of Nancy’s work is not only the interpretation of the ever changing natural surroundings, but her use of lush colors, and the freedom of her palette knife and use of the right brush.
How fortunate to have 24,000 acres of The Pretty Boy Watershed in her backyard. It is the place to disappear for hours-just the artist, her easel, backpack and her companion Luna her mixed breed dog who rescued “her”. Whether it’s a beavers pond, a strand of trees, a rushing stream, it is that connection. Many times locals and passersby find her in the woods and want to purchase the paintings there, I guess that is her “office”.
Nancy received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Notre Dame College. She continues to study and to take numerous classes and workshops throughout the world.
