Ingrid Lohr Matuszewski is an American artist based in Maryland, where she continues to explore and celebrate the beauty of the natural world through her art. Originally inspired by a workshop along the C&O Canal in Washington, D.C., she began her artistic journey later in life, transitioning from a career in corporate and international education to fully dedicate herself to painting. She works primarily in plein air and abstract styles, often capturing landscapes, seascapes, and the interplay of light and color.
Her intuitive approach to painting focuses on "the feeling of a place," balancing abstraction with naturalism. She uses bold strokes, a vivid color palette, and thoughtful placement of objects and lighting to bring her subjects to life.
