Bernie Houston is an accomplished driftwood sculptor with a career spanning several decades. A graduate of the Savannah College of Art & Design in Savannah, Georgia, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1984, Houston has continuously pursued creative expression across various artistic disciplines.
Since 1985, Houston has dedicated himself to crafting Sea Drift Sculptures, transforming driftwood into artistic masterpieces that reflect the organic forms and textures of nature. His work has been showcased in galleries and art venues nationwide, garnering critical acclaim and earning prestigious awards, including multiple Best in Show distinctions.
In addition to his work as a sculptor, Houston has had a diverse career in graphic design and visual media. Since 2008, he has been a graphic artist in Rockville, Maryland, specializing in image printing, design, and desktop publication. From 1999 to 2008, he served as a graphic manager for ABC Imaging, where he collaborated with clients on media projects and promotional publications.
Earlier in his career, Houston held various roles in the creative industry, including working as an editor and photographer for Atlanta Hair Magazine and a digitizing artist for textile design.
