This unglazed ceramic sculpture is one of two female figure sculptures made by artist Kathleen Flaherty. The figure here is laying on her back with her arms above her head. Her knees are pressed together and bent to the side. Other than her breasts and her torso, she does not have any defined features. The clay is rough in texture and creates an interesting composition.
