Dancing Dragons
22x15
Watercolor, acrylic, gold foil
140 Arches cp
It had been years, decades, since my last visit to the high desert. The Pet Cemetery was my destination.
It had been abandoned, no longer cared for, roots crumbling, history lost to the winds. Circling in frustration, looking for my baby’s marker. My studio partner, loyal and loving companion. What did it really matter anyway? She lives in my heart always in my spirit realm.
Off in the distance were dragonflies, swarming and dancing.
Wanting to capture their brilliant sun glow, I walked toward them. Curious as to how and why they would be here, where water is nowhere to be found.
And there she was, my beloved baby girl, Silver Wolf!
Keeping the brushes wet,
Teresa Beyer
p.s. gold foil takes a bit of practice and I’m loving the process
