Tasha Nichole (King) lives and works in Sacramento, CA. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Finance in 2002 at Sacramento State University. After reaching a state of burnout and depression in 2018, after 15 years of state government service, she decided for the sake of her health and sanity to change direction and pursue a calling in art. Art pulled her through a very dark time. She exhibited her work for the first time at an art pop up at Oak Park First Friday’s at the Brickhouse Art Gallery in September 2019.
She is a self-taught intuitive abstract painter who believes in the healing power of art. She deeply feels the struggles, pain, joy, and excitement of others as if they were her own. She's simply the vessel painting people's emotional stories. Releasing these feelings and emotions through her hands and transmitting the energy of her soul to the canvas visually depicts the voice of the voiceless and sets them free. Sharing and spreading messages of love that’s what she does. Why? Because she believes we can and should live in peace and harmony together. That’s what she creates through her art. Her artwork taps into the spiritual being of everyone to make them feel something. Her work demonstrates everything and everyone is connected. May her art touch your heart and soul, offer healing through her story and be a source of inspiration and empowerment for others to walk their healing journey.
Each piece deserves a loving space. If a piece speaks to your soul and makes you feel something every time you look at it or new emotions emerge then that piece is for you. I would love to release my art to you...someone who will honor, appreciate and love it as much as I did creating it.
I am an abstract painter. I believe in the healing power of art. My paintings illustrate the emotional effects on the mind, body and spirit. Through the use of vibrant colors, shapes, and bold brush strokes my paintings evoke a spiritual connection. I paint what I feel not what I see. I’m simply the vessel painting people's emotional stories. Releasing these feelings and emotions through my hands and transmitting the energy of my soul to the canvas visually depicts the voice of the voiceless and sets them free. I surrender and am open to the process. Channeling the universe and ancestors through my brushstrokes is a sacred gift that I’m honored to have and I will make them proud to have chosen me for this work. My art is created out of love and is centered around well- being and connection which I like to call expressions of spiritual light.
If emotions were an image, what would it look like? How do these emotions harmonize together? What needs to be resolved? These are questions I explore in my paintings. I explore my feelings, transmitting the energy of my soul to the canvas. The imagery, message, or feeling from my paintings are for someone’s healing, the answer to a prayer or a reminder. Our emotions and experiences are deeply embedded in our cellular memory. We are multilayered human beings and my paintings are multilayered examining the feelings buried underneath. What rises to the surface reveals what the viewer needs taking them on a journey inward.
My mission is to spread love, light and help others heal through art. I wish to leave more beauty in the world so that others can experience joy, happiness, love, and peace. May my art touch your heart and soul, offer healing through my story and be a source of inspiration and empowerment for others to follow their path.
