When painting In Bloom and Thought, I felt a strong desire to share those rare tranquil moments of introspection. With little feet running about my house, I am often inspired by children’s stories and on this occasion it was from Winnie the Pooh. “He sat down and thought in the most thoughtful way he could think.” In today’s world where we find ourselves filling our minds with other people’s lives every spare minute we have, how often do we take this time for ourselves to focus on ourself? In this artwork, I wanted to capture the beauty of pausing to embrace our feelings, reminding us that, like flowers in bloom, our thoughts, ideas and plans can flourish when nurtured in stillness.
