As a proud alumni of Howard University I am honored to have had the opportunity to partner with JP Morgan Chase Bank for one of my biggest commissions to date, located at the branch on campus!

STATEMENT

“Bison Made” exuberates the depth of excellence, pride, and colorful culture that exists within the Howard University family. There is nothing like being a part of a family dynamic that prepares you for excellence in life, and extends its network and resources for a lifetime due to the wealth of knowledge, education, and resources that are cultivated on a daily basis within this community.

I created a piece that highlights the strong family culture and dynamic at Howard University. With my figurative abstract style I want the viewers to relate and reminisce, with a sense of pride, taking an exciting journey of good old past times, that gave them the structure and foundation to become excellent in their field of studies. I aim to tell a story through these pieces by building on the significant structure and community within the school network. I highlight the most prominent schools and athletic teams at Howard, while adding a strong sense of HBCU culture, and family through its dynamic extracurricular activity and community. From the structure of the dominant lines building the important figures, to the colors that pop off the canvas with soul, I bring a story to life that represents and sings HBCU culture and excellence.
