Seeds is about the faith behind the faith. It was inspired by one of my favorite chapters in the Book of Mormon. The prophet Alma is teaching the people about faith and how it grows like a seed. But the verse I quote above proceeds his beautiful analogy. I love how he states that even if you only have a desire to believe, then that is enough to get started. I thought about how we often want to believe or accomplish something, but sometimes it feels too big or overwhelming. What if instead we took it a step back and we chose to believe to believe? To have faith that we will eventually have faith?

In this piece, there is a growing seedling with what appears to be the initial seed and its network of roots. However, as you follow the roots down you see another smaller golden seed. This is the True Seed. The "desire to believe." The faith in yourself, or God, or whatever the situation, to eventually believe at the level you hope for. But first plant that little golden seed: The hope to hope, that faith to have faith, that desire to believe and let that grow into the larger seed of true belief.
