Tangled is a dense, energetic abstraction drawn from the layered life of an old-growth forest. Loops, twists, and tangled forms weave through earthy greens, browns, and blues—shapes in motion, colliding and emerging. The painting unfolded intuitively, each mark building on the last in a push toward complexity.
The real challenge came in not pulling back. I resisted the urge to tame the composition or refine the messiness. Instead, I let it remain wild and unresolved—honouring the rawness of the forest and the process itself.
