Artist Statement (Tali Shenfeld):
I paint from my life here. In my paintings, I seek to capture the essence of Israeli nature and landscapes – those wild, colorful, and vibrant spaces that shape our identity both as a people and as individuals. As an Israeli artist living and working here, I draw inspiration from the blooming fields of the Negev, the green hills of the Galilee, the stormy Mediterranean Sea, and the urban expanses that blend harmoniously with nature.
My large-scale works, in oil and acrylic, combine beauty, romance, femininity, and mystery – a bridge between exterior and interior, between matter and emotion, between the artist and the viewer. My paintings integrate delicate abstract elements with subtle realism to convey the sense of movement, light, and color that characterize this land.
For me, nature is not merely a backdrop, but a living, breathing force that invites us to reconnect with ourselves. Through dynamic brushstrokes and bodily gestures, I deconstruct and transform images from the Israeli landscape – vistas, flowers, and open spaces bathed in the unique warm Israeli light – turning them into expressions of intense emotions: love, desire, intimacy, jealousy, parting, and renewal.
Through rich layers of color and dynamic compositions, I aim to evoke in the viewer a feeling of calm or storm, nostalgia or awe at the beauty that surrounds us. My art is an invitation to look anew at the world, to appreciate its wonders up close, and to find in them inspiration for everyday life.
With my architectural background, the paintings become emotional spaces that integrate into exhibitions, galleries, and design projects, bringing this living energy into daily life. Each work carries a title that reveals its emotional core and invites the viewer on a shared journey of observation and identification, bringing a piece of Israeli nature into modern life.
This is my commitment: to create art that connects humanity to nature and reminds us of the infinite
