I watched the documentary of Cheryl Alexander, Takaya, the lone wolf in April 2020 and I fell in love with this exceptional wild animal. I can say that Takaya and Cheryl helped me recover the joy of living and painting I lost months before that. This set of paintings retraces the life of Takaya even if I added a few funny and phantasmagorical facts. Takaya gives me hope and strength. I’m in awe of what he did alone and his ability to adapt to his environment. I’m moved also by the fact that Takaya was killed… Kamishibai is a good way to share this true story. It’s like he never died and he’s still with us today.
