I first saw the documentary of Takaya in December 2019. I loved it. I was touched deeply when I heard his call and saw the connection that had been forged between Takaya and Cheryl. I have great affinity for those who have reverence for animals and nature. I read of Takaya’s fate and was heartbroken. I wept. I understand there was a time this was acceptable behavior. But then …mindsets/perspectives change – we change …. we see things differently. To kill an animal for sport or just because you can seems insane to me. I saw this opportunity, as a way to shine my light, on this issue and be part of the catalyst, creating awareness and CHANGE. We (collectively) are always evolving and growing and changing. It is a process. A journey. As Maya Angelou said: "Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better." May Takaya's life never be forgotten and his death never be in vain."
