Catalina: The Wild Side 2024

Earlier this year, I had the fantastic opportunity to paint on Catalina Island alongside six other amazing artists. We soaked up the scenes that have drawn artists here for over a hundred years. This collection started as plein air sketches and color notes right there on the island, capturing everything from the quiet harbors to the lively eucalyptus groves. I finished these paintings back in my studio, readying them for the Catalina: The Wild Side Show, which supports the Catalina Conservancy. These pieces are all about sharing the beauty of Catalina and celebrating how it brings artists together, both past and present. It’s a special place that keeps inspiring, and I hope these paintings bring a bit of that joy to you.

San Angelo Fellowship 2024

This collection reflects not just the beauty of West Texas but the deeper connection I felt during my time in the EnPleinAir Texas Ranch Fellowship, sponsored by the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts. Unlike the usual competitive format, this fellowship gave me the opportunity to spend three weeks staying on a local ranch, truly immersing myself in ranch life. I had the chance to return to the same locations multiple times, experiencing the landscapes in different lights and moods, which allowed me to approach my work with more thoughtfulness and planning. The fellowship format also gave me the time to connect with the local community, learn about ranch life firsthand, and bring that understanding into my paintings. I was honored to be one of the four artists chosen, along with Carla Bosch, Katie Dobson Cundiff, and Liz Bonham. This slower, more deliberate approach has shaped this collection in a meaningful way, and I hope it captures the spirit of the land and the people who welcomed me so warmly.

Laguna Plein Air Competition 2024

My Laguna paintings come from a place of pure joy. There’s something magical about being in Laguna Beach—the beauty, the history, and the fun vibe of the area are like nowhere else. I love the camaraderie with the other artists, and the challenge of painting alongside such talented people pushes me to grow. The stunning ocean views and the charm of the town always spark my creativity. This collection captures the essence of what makes Laguna so special to me—a place where art, nature, and friendship all come together.

Steamboat Fall Colors 2024

Recently, I had the pleasure of serving as a judge for the Steamboat Plein Air event, hosted by the wonderful Steamboat Art Museum. While there, I was fortunate to spend a few days painting during the peak of fall color—an absolutely stunning and inspiring time in the area. I also loved connecting with the local community and even had the chance to visit a nearby ranch, which added to the richness of the experience. This collection reflects those vibrant autumn hues and the beauty of Steamboat Springs that left such an impression on me.

portrait

My portrait paintings are about more than capturing a likeness—they’re about telling a story. I strive to reveal the character, emotion, and essence of each subject, creating a connection that feels deeply personal. Each portrait is a collaboration, blending my perspective with the unique spirit of the person before me.

Still Life

My still life paintings are a celebration of the beauty in everyday moments. I love exploring how light dances across simple objects, giving them life and meaning. Each piece tells a quiet story, inviting you to pause, reflect, and find joy in the small details. These works are my way of honoring the beauty found in the ordinary.

Landscape

My landscape paintings are inspired by the ever-changing beauty of nature. Whether it’s the soft glow of morning light or the dramatic colors of a setting sun, I try to capture the feeling of being in that moment. Each piece reflects my connection to the land and my desire to share its wonder and serenity with others. These paintings are my tribute to the places that stir the soul.
