Kaleidoscope is an abstract painting inspired by the shifting forms of Utah’s Slot canyons, where rushing waters carve fluid shapes into the rock. I used layers of earthy clay reds, contrasted with unexpected pops of lime and fuchsia, to create a playful visual experience that invites exploration.
The flowing lines and movement symbolize the transformative power of water, echoing the canyon’s natural forces. Through abstraction, I aim to capture the sense of wonder and discovery hikers feel, as each glance reveals something new.
