This piece is really about the exquisite quiet of being underwater. This is one of my process driven pieces. Making "process driven" art means participating with some materials without a fixed idea of the final outcome and where the process is a key part of the practice. It's a spontaneous collaboration between materials, physics, my hands and my brain. It involves sort of relaxing my conscious mind and accessing my intuitive subconscious. Right brain, left brain. It is a fascinating exercise and an important part of my art practice and my life practice. This piece almost glows with super saturated color. For this piece I made my own paint from dry pigments and acrylic binders.
