My friend Sue Howard (also a watercolour artist) and I recently conducted a workshop where gum blossoms were the subject. Afterwards she gave me some cuttings from the magnificent gum in her front yard. These are the blossoms in this painting. I hope to have captured some of the beauty and magic I feel when I see them.
