Setting the Stage for Climate Change is a public art installation in Morningside Park. Environmental artist Susan Stair designed the sculpture to reinvent this area of the park as an amphitheater for arts and cultural programming.
Setting the Stage for Climate Change is made of repurposed materials including the structure and platform constructed from repurposed wood. The visible surfaces feature plastic laundry bottles melted and joined. Stair presents the solution to the climate crisis to be preserving forests on land and in the sea since they produce 100% of our oxygen and are capable of cleaning the land, water and air.
