I utilize drawing and installation to explore my fascination for natural environments and our often complicated relationship with them. Drawing is at the heart of everything I do, so I go back to basics when I focus on drawing. The result is quieter and more intimate but no less significant in scale. The place and the moment influenced my work created in November 2022 in Barcelona: the airtight experience of a new environment, absorbing Barcelona's art nouveau architecture that I passed every day on my way to the studio, experiencing Mothlight by Stan Brakhage, listening to Bjork's podcast while I worked, watching bleak Icelandic thrillers in the evening, and just working without the distractions of your regular life. I think of the series of small drawings I created as frames of an experimental film.
