We worked closely with art consultants at Distinctive Art to design and create artwork for the new Mercy Fore Rivers in Portland, ME. The piece hangs in a patient waiting area in the newly built John Hopkins facility.
I’ve been commissioned for a multitude of health care projects, and it has sustained me as a working artist. I contribute a great deal of my success to the honor of having my work in health care communities. Both my mom and grandmother worked in hospitals, and I feel this is my way of impacting the well-being of people. Over the years I’ve been given the opportunity to transform and beautify spaces that most folks rather not be in, and I feel like my work is serving a civil purpose. Aesthetics are subtle and underestimated and I believe it queues unexpected and sometimes an unnoticed sense of calm, disarmament, wonder, connection and presence of mind.
