GLASS: Les Mains d'Appuis

This body of work is from a side project that I created for myself. They are the hands of family, friends and mentors who have supported me as a studio artist through my lifetime. These pieces hang in my studio where I see them daily while I'm in my creative process. They remind me that through their scaffolding, I have been able to lead a rich creative life and I'm grateful to all of them. The collection continues to grow. Kiln formed glass and pigment

GLASS: Notions

An Ode to the life of useful objects we find hidden away or collected for their beauty and nostalgia to our past connections

GLASS: Story Quilts

My studio glass reflects my attraction to color, pattern, and love of storytelling. Just hinting at a narrative prompts the viewer to start perusing their own memories and experiences thereby creating a recollection unique to that person. Objects and images are spring boards to provoking memory and thought. I want my work to have an element of engagement that is personal to the individual perspective and imagination.

METAL: PODS and Shoals of Fish

These playful artworks are fabricated from 1/8” x 2” powder coated steel. They are appropriate for both interior and exterior installation and can be made in custom sizes. Artist Susan Madacsi typically creates these works without templates and patterns making each one unique to itself.

METAL: Sculpture

Forged and fabricated steel

METAL: Vessels

These forged steel sculptural vessels combine traditional blacksmithing with contemporary aesthetics. Inspired by the shapes of geodes they are hand made by artist Susan Madacsi. Steel is heated and worked at temperatures that cause the material to glow bright orange; in this state it's easily manipulated into the desired shape. These eye-catching pieces are intended for display and are not food safe. Clean with a dry towel. Do not use water on these pieces.
