I have always been an artist, and fascinated by how art is made. Making marks, shapes, and colors to capture emotion and nature is what I do now.
MessageI have always wanted to capture color and light, and to be an artist. In my twenties, I was a published poet, and co-author of several non-fiction books through my working for nonprofits. I went to the Saturday School at the University of the Arts briefly in the 1980's, and worked on a collaboration with artist Claire Owen. I learned about charcoal drawing and pastels, but it wasn't until 2009 that I started doing art again. In 2015, I started doing my Moon series, one or more drawings for each full or new moon. In 2016 I began working in acrylics. I now mostly do landscapes, with my own emotional expression through color and perspective to catch illusive moments of discovery or delight. I am fond of contemporary artists Albert Handell, Christine Lashley, Lori Putnam and Paul Kratter. I am attracted to work in a variety of mediums, including pastels, oils and guache. I am 70 years old. My work is available for sale and several pieces are at the Blockchain Gallery in Kensington, Philadelphia. Contact me with an email at [email protected]. I live outside of Doylestown, PA.
