This lively acrylic painting is a portrait of a folk musician, who was playing with his troupe in our local pub. Our art group arranged to listen and sketch them live. The evening was the most enormous fun and I painted this portrait of 'the white-haired fella' a couple of days later, whilst the memory of the atmosphere and the cosy pub lighting was still fresh in my mind.
The painting is on a box canvas, with the sides painted a warm papaya orange/red/pink colour, which is also the underpainting colour.
Ready to hang without a frame.
