Susan Bloch is a glass artist living on the Northern California coast. She is inspired by people she encounters and the environment she lives in.
Message
Several processes were used to develop this piece. An initial deep sandblasted carving following by a kiln fire-polish to create a watery effect which shines in sunlight were the first stages. Deep carving the woman to create a softened "every-woman" was next. Lightly drawing with fine abrasive on each side of the glass finalized the art work. She embodies nature and air flowing inseparably from her humanity.
