Originally from Rhode Island, I was inspired at a young age, by artists of the Providence Art club such as Spencer Crooks. I continuously experiment with different mediums - oil, acrylic and gouache - and try to capture light, atmosphere, and the essence of a subject.
Statement
I am a spur of the moment painter...The diamond light on the water, or a burst of color from changing autumn leaves... my rear-view mirror is frequently a viewfinder and my sketchbook is my road map. Plein air painting is my preferred method, and my inspiration comes from the natural beauty of New England, with its many fleeting moments and subjects. Each season brings nuances to the color palette.
