Mixed stones, Picture Jasper, resin, silver and gold gilt
A sculpture poised between earth and sky, Talisman Silver rises like a sacred totem — an artefact of balance, protection, and quiet strength.
Each stone, hand-gilded in silver and gold, seems to hum with elemental energy: the cool clarity of the moon mirrored against the warmth of the sun.
At its base rests a piece of picture jasper, its ochre markings echoing ancient terrain — as though the earth itself recorded forgotten horizons. This grounding stone anchors the ascent, linking the spiritual to the geological, the celestial to the human.
Encased in clear resin, the composition becomes a suspended act of meditation — an emblem of stillness, resilience, and enduring connection to the natural world.
Formed over millions of years, picture jasper is a sedimentary tapestry — a canvas painted by the slow breath of the earth. Layer upon layer of quartz and fine clay settle in ancient riverbeds and deserts, compressed by time until they become stone. Iron oxides and organic minerals seep into the strata, staining them with ochres, russets, creams and soft greys — the palette of the world itself.
Within each polished surface, one glimpses an echo of landscape: distant hills, desert horizons, or the shifting lines of wind-swept sand. No two are alike. Each fragment is a geological painting, a snapshot of a vanished place, captured forever in mineral form.
In Talisman Silver, this stone acts as the earth’s anchor — grounding the vertical ascent of silver and gold. Its layered vistas whisper of time’s vastness and the continuity between matter and spirit.
Here, picture jasper becomes both relic and oracle — a keeper of ancient memories, balancing the celestial gleam above with the quiet wisdom of the soil below.
