The equally strong shapes in the branches and their shadows caught my attention while sketching and then making 'Breath and Shadow'. I was interested in capturing the 'reflection' of the trees on the ground while creating a sense of the shape of the path and the distant landscape. There are experimental pockets of velvet and devore in this piece, heavier than my normal fabric inclusions but creating interesting pops of texture and vibrant colour amongst the wools, silks and threads.
