Sunrise on the St. Johns River prairie, with early morning ground fog that is common in marshy areas. Painted from life at sunrise, while the artist was camped at a boat and airboat launch site on the St. Johns off SR-50 west of Titusville, during the time he worked on a large hammock painting -- 'Tootoosahatchee' -- several miles away. The small paintings done here along the St. Johns were the first in the artist's ongoing St. Johns River Series.
