Bald Mountain Ridge is near Hatcher Pass in the Talkeetna Mountains, about 55 miles northeast of Anchorage, Alaska. Bright new yellow-green leaves of birch. A notable tall cottonwood tree. Some snow remains on the ridge, not yet melted away. In the left foreground, some violet-red wild roses are in bloom. Painted from life on location, from the step van mobile studio, out of the wind, rain and mosquitoes. On linen glued to birchwood panel. The major project of summer-early fall 2022.
