“My work is not a literal interpretation of specific places but rather an attempt
to capture feelings I get from those environments. Using elements and principles of design excites me while creating my art. Whatever the subject matter, it is the process of combining the elements–line, shape, color, form, and texture–with the principles–unity, rhythm, balance, and emphasis–into works of art that convey my sense of aesthetics. My subject matter has varied over the years, but there has been one recurring theme: trees. ‘Window’s View’ captures a moment in time for us to view the lines, shapes, and spaces which they create: a needed break from an otherwise monotonous northern prairie landscape.”
