“Spearfish Creek (in western South Dakota) brings me tranquility and inspires many of my paintings, infused with my interests in the rich heritage of South Dakota, art history, and global travel. I particularly enjoy painting Black Hills landscapes, and I frequently make the outdoors my studio by painting in plein air. I utilize watercolor on either Ampersand Claybord
or Yupo paper, painting with AQUA-Fix by Schmincke. This allows me to apply vibrant color in multiple layers, conducive to creating a glassy surface through layering of multiple colors. My artwork reflects a passion for mountain living and the restorative impact of nature.”
