House of Clouds by Susan Hartenhoff Image: “This is a vision of fortitude and peace, through a tranquil landscape where the solitary, white, two-story house stands as the prominent figure. The genesis of this piece lies in a delicate interplay of memories and everyday encounters invoked by the old, deserted house I pass daily on my way to the studio. This house, forsaken for a modern replacement, stands stoically in my mind, a silent witness to the passage of time. It whispered a longing to merge my love for the country — where farms, hills, endless skies, and bewitching cloudscapes are my daily companions.”
