Working with the concept of "Rest As Reparations" for the historical and modern day violence perpetuated against Black bodies in America, this series of large-scale mixed media center the Black body as a site of rest, leisure, pleasure, reclaimed time and privacy. The figure lies in a restful pose among flowers, her interpretation of rest. Her back faces the viewers, leaving them to bear witness but unable to disrupt or actively participant in it.
