Raised by a forest in rural Georgia, I grew up barefoot and only slightly feral, climbing trees and catching frogs. After several years of military service, then several more as a wildlife biologist, I finally worked up the courage to explore life on the other side of convention--and landed in the expansive world of watercolor.

The business name comes from how I see things: my take--my soul's take--on the world. I hope to share with you, my friend, a smidgeon of the beauty and fascinating crumbs of life I see around me. Of course, some days I just want to hide under a blanket with a book and a jar of peanut butter...but I know the good stuff is always out there, and if I can slow down long enough to look for the sweet bits--the good, kind, loving bits--I can invite them in and make my life (and, by proxy, the world) a better place.
