First in an edition of six. Woven by Jean Pierre Larochette and Phoebe McAfee. Designed by Yael Lurie, wife of Jean Pierre Larochette, co-founder of the San Francisco Tapestry Workshop (SFTW) with Dundas. Harmony was one of TWO tapestries wove from the same cartoon, commissioned by Carnegie Hall to present to the Chinese Government at the making of Walter Scheuer's film, Mao to Mozart, about Isaac Stern's visit to the Shanghai Music Academy in 1979. The film won an academy award. This version of Harmony is the second which was commissioned by Wallter Scheuer for his personal use and was given to me by him in the 1980's.
