From the Artist: This work was inspired by a view from my window. The wild dogwoods portray winter dormancy’s patient wait for spring.

Viewers have often said that my work has a landscape and architectural sense to it. Perhaps this has to do with the fact that I worked as an architectural designer for 18 years, that I live in rural Maine and love the beauty of my environment. Spatial ambiguities, layering of transparent and translucent planes, contrasts in temperature, viewing inside and outside, being awake, dreaming...these are the sources of my inspiration.
