When I look into this painting I see an ancient beauty that only comes with age. Or, is it a distant
mountain veiled in atmospheric mist?
The first-known works of art created from beeswax and fire can be traced back to ancient Greece and Egypt. The word Encaustic - meaning to burn in - originates from the Latin word Encausticus and from the Greek enkaustikos.
